The U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN) calls for a firm boycott of the zionist food brand, Sadaf. Businesses should deshelve Sadaf immediately from our neighborhood stores and pantries!
Common in stores that carry “Middle Eastern” groceries, Sadaf is a Mosta’rab (Mizrahim, مستعربين) operation that shrouds itself in our food and culture. Mizrahim/ مستعربين forge a false indigenous identity as a “Middle eastern heritage” to promote such things as “israeli” falafel or hummus. For Sadaf, this tactic is a vehicle to co opt our culture, infiltrate our diaspora for profit, and support “israel” and imperialism. Historically Mizrahim/مستعربين are zionists who are settlers, leveraged to spy upon, attack, and abduct Palestinians because as Arabs, Africans, and Iranians, their features blend with Palestinians. Mizrahim/مستعربين make up 30-40% of zionist settlers in #AllofPalestine.

USPCN has investigated Sadaf and Soofer Inc., confirming the zionist agenda that Sadaf upholds:
- Incentivized Trade to Promote Normalization: The State Department’s USAID office lists Sadaf as a viable trade partner in the Arab world. Sadaf exchanges goods from Qualified Industrial Zones (QIZs), which were formed by the United States to promote economic normalization.
- Military Occupation and Land Theft: Sadaf has expressed support for “israel” and participated in events that directly benefit the “israeli” occupation forces.
- Direct Business with “israel:” Sadaf transacts with settlers as a registered business in the colony. It collaborates with zionist agricultural collectives, merchants, processing centers, and shipment logistic company, Zim.
- Cultural Appropriation to Normalize: Sadaf appropriates regional cuisine and exploits our food culture for profit, using Arabic names and script while forging “Israeli” recipes. They normalize their zionist presence on our shelves by appearing familiar.
- Zionist Banking: Sadaf is a client of Israel Discount Bank, which services businesses within “israel”. This bank was created shortly after al-Nakba to support settlers and their industries.
- Health Hazard: Sadaf has used harmful ingredients in the spices our community unfortunately consumes. In 2017, Sadaf was found to have violated Proposition 65, “The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 in California, where it is based.
We call on the community to STOP BUYING Sadaf products immediately and to hold the line against normalization!
